Oven Baked French Fries
  • 2 large Russet potatoes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
  2. I like to cut off the ends of the potatoes since that’s where rot has a tendency to pop up.
  3. Carefully cut your potato in half.
  4. Decide on the thickness of your fries and slice them the way you like them consistently with each potato half.
  5. Then cut the slice into four by cutting the potato in half and that half in half. Repeat with all of the potatoes including the ends.
  6. Drizzle the 1 tbsp of olive oil over the potatoes and toss with your hands to coat.
  7. Sprinkle a little salt on top and some fresh black pepper and give a toss and repeat on the other side.
  8. Spread out the fries on a cookie sheet lined with either a silicone mat or parchment paper. (This allows you to use less oil and prevents sticking.)
  9. Make sure the smaller fries are on the outside of the sheet pan and the thicker ones toward the middle and that none are touching.
  10. Put in the oven for 7 minutes.
  11. Give them a little shake and put back in the oven for 7 minutes.
  12. Remove from oven and flip over with tongs.
  13. Back into the oven for 7-10 minutes until they’re browned to your liking.

Use garlic powder, dried rosemary and toss in grated parmesan cheese when they come out of the oven.

Use chipotle or chili powder or Mrs Dash Fiesta Lime seasoning for a southwestern flavor.
